Mama'S Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/4 c. water
3/4 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 heaping Tbsp. strawberry jello
pinch of salt
red food coloring (optional)
1 pt. strawberries
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 baked pie crust
Cool Whip

Preparation

Combine first 6 ingredients.
Cook on medium heat until thick, stirring often.
Bake pie crust as directed.
Slice strawberries into crust.
Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar.
Pour mixture over strawberries.
Top with Cool Whip.
