Refrigerator Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. white sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 c. shaped nuts
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1/4 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Blend shortening, sugar, salt and egg.
    Add dry ingredients and nuts to this mixture.
    Blend well.
    Shape into a roll about 2 1/2-inches in diameter.
    Roll in waxed paper and chill in refrigerator for several hours or overnight.
    Cut thin slices of chilled dough.
    Put on lightly greased cookie sheets.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
    Yield:
    8 dozen.
