Perfect Play Dough - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. flour
1/4 c. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. water
1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
food coloring as desired

Preparation

Combine all ingredients until smooth.
Cook over medium heat (a heavy-bottomed saucepan works best) until it \"almost burns,\" stirring constantly.
It will be quite stiff.
Knead on counter when cool enough to handle.
Lasts several months if kept in a tightly closed plastic container.
