Herbed Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 large ripe tomatoes
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    1/4 c. finely snipped parsley
    1/4 c. fresh or frozen chives
    2/3 c. salad oil
    1/4 c. tarragon vinegar
Preparation
    Peel tomatoes, cut crosswise in half.
    Place in deep bowl, sprinkling each layer with seasonings and herbs.
    Combine oil and vinegar and pour over tomatoes.
    Cover, chill an hour or more, basting often.
    Drain.
    Yields 12 servings.
