Christmas Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
salt (I just shake some in )
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. applesauce
1 tsp. soda in 1/2 c. boiling water
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
2 c. flour
1 c. each raisins, currants, candied peel, dates, cherries and nuts
Preparation

Mix in order given.
Grease and flour pans.
(Will make 2 cakes in loaf pans or 3 in coffee cans.)
Bake in moderate oven at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
