Boston Brown Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. raisins
    3 tsp. baking soda
    1 stick oleo
    3 c. boiling water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 c. flour
    2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. salt
    3 eggs, beaten
Preparation
    Combine first 5 ingredients; let stand 3 hours.
    Add rest of ingredients and mix well.
    Pour into 4 (1 pound) coffee cans, well greased.
    Fill about 1/2 full.
    (I use small loaf pans.)
    Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0 or until done when tested.
