Cottage Pudding Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    2 heaping Tbsp. Crisco
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    flour
Preparation
    Mix sugar and Crisco.
    Add egg.
    Sift together about 1/2 cup flour with baking soda, baking powder and nutmeg.
    Add alternately with milk.
    Add more flour until batter is heavy enough to stand in peaks.
    Pour into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
    Bake 35 to 40 minutes at 350\u00b0.
