Barbecue Spareribs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 to 8 lb. spareribs, cut between ribs
    1-inch piece fresh ginger
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. soy sauce
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. dry sherry or pineapple juice
    3 cloves garlic, crushed
    1 1/2-inches ginger, minced or crushed
Preparation
    Boil ribs with 1-inch piece of fresh ginger until cooked. Drain.
    Soak ribs for 1 hour in remaining ingredients.
    Remove from marinade.
    Place in single layer on broiler pan. Broil until browned.
