Apple Cranberry Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry or mixed fruit jello
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 1/4 c. boiling water
    1 (1 lb.) can jelled cranberry sauce
    2 c. apples, finely chopped
    coarsely chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Dissolve jello and salt in boiling water.
    Break up cranberry sauce with fork.
    Add jello mixture.
    Chill until very thick. Fold in apples and nuts.
    Chill until firm.
