Round Steak Sauerbraten - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. round steak (1/2 inch thick)
    1 envelope brown gravy mix
    1 Tbsp. minced onion
    1 Tbsp. brown sugar
    2 Tbsp. wine vinegar
    1 bay leaf
    1/4 tsp. ground ginger
    hot buttered noodles
    1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Preparation
    Cut meat in 1-inch squares.
    Brown meat in 1 tablespoon hot shortening.
    Remove meat from skillet.
    Add gravy mix and 2 cups water.
    Bring to boiling, stirring constantly.
    Stir in next 6 ingredients, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
    Add meat. Turn into 1 1/2-quart casserole.
    Cover and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
    Remove bay leaf.
    Serve on noodles.
    Makes 5 or 6 servings.
