Divinity Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white Karo
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. water
    2 egg whites
    1 tsp. vanilla
    pecan halves
Preparation
    In
    saucepan over low heat, dissolve sugar, water, Karo and salt,
    stirring.
    Cook,
    without
    stirring, to 248\u00b0, firm ball stage,
    then
    remove
    from heat and pour slowly over the stiffly beaten
    egg whites.
    Add vanilla and continue beating with\tmixer until
    mixture
    will hold its shape and loses its gloss.
    Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper.
    Put a pecan half on each spoonful.
