Oven Swiss Steak - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 lb. beef round steak (3/4-inch thick)
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. chopped carrot
2 Tbsp. chopped onion
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 c. shredded sharp American cheese
Preparation

Cut meat into 4 portions.
Mix flour and salt.
Pound into meat.
Set aside remaining flour.
Brown meat in small amount hot shortening.
Place meat in shallow baking dish.
Blend remaining flour with drippings in skillet.
Add remaining ingredients, except cheese.
Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture boils. Pour over meat.
Cover and bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 2 hours or until tender.
Top with cheese.
Return to oven for a few minutes. Serves 4.
