Drop Noodles(Spaetzle) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/3 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    1 c. water
    1/4 c. butter, melted
Preparation
    Sift together flour and salt.
    Beat together egg and water. Add flour mixture; stir until smooth (batter should be very thick).
    Bring to a boil 2 quarts water and 2 teaspoon salt. Spoon batter into boiling water by 1/2 teaspoon, dipping spoon into water each time.
    Cook only one layer of noodles at a time. After noodles rise to the surface, boil gently for 5 to 8 minutes. Remove from water and place in warm bowl.
    Toss with melted butter or serve with gravy.
