French Veal Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 to 3 lb. boneless veal, cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes
    1/2 c. flour
    2 tsp. salt
    black pepper
    3 Tbsp. olive oil
    3/4 c. sliced onion
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1/2 tsp. dried thyme
    1 c. chicken broth and 1/2 c. tomato juice *
    1 c. sliced mushrooms
Preparation
    *Or 1 cup dry white wine, 1/2 cup chicken broth and 1 tablespoon tomato paste.
