Red Beans And Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. red kidney beans
    3 cloves chopped garlic
    2 stalks chopped celery
    2 large bay leaves
    1 chopped onion
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 smoked ham hock
    1 lb. smoked sausage
Preparation
    Soak beans overnight in water.
    Drain and add fresh water, enough to cover beans plus 2 or 3 inches.
    Bring beans to a boil with ham hock and sliced sausage.
    Cover and cook over low heat for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
    Add remaining ingredients and continue to cook for 1/2 to 1 hour.
    Serve over rice.
