Sauerbraten - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. vinegar
    1/2 c. sweet red wine
    1 c. water
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. whole black pepper
    2 onions, sliced
    1 tsp. mustard seed
    12 whole cloves
    4 bay leaves
    4 lb. rump or bottom round
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 c. fat
    3/4 c. liquid (from marinade)
    10 ginger snaps (optional)
Preparation
    Mix vinegar, red wine, water, sugar, salt, pepper, sliced onion, mustard seed, cloves and bay leaves in a large deep bowl. Wipe meat with a damp cloth and place in bowl. Let stand in refrigerator for 2 days turning the meat.
