Ever Crisp Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cucumbers, sliced
    2 c. lime
    2 gal. water
    2 qt. vinegar
    4 1/2 lb. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. whole cloves
    1` tsp. mixed spices
Preparation
    Slice cucumbers and cover with lime and water.
    Let stand 24 hours, then rinse in cold water.
    Let soak 3 hours longer in water, drain off water and cover with a mixture of the remaining ingredients.
    Leave overnight and in the morning, put on stove. Boil for 35 minutes.
    Pack in jars and seal.
