7 Day Sweet Pickle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    15 medium cucumbers
    8 c. sugar
    4 c. vinegar (cider)
    2 Tbsp. mixed pickling spices
    5 tsp. salt (plain)
Preparation
    Clean cucumbers (leave whole).
    Drop into hot water.
    Repeat the following 3 days (total 4 days).
    On the fifth day, slice crosswise 1/4-inch thick; drain.
    Combine remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
    Drop cucumber slices in hot syrup.
    Let set 2 days, turning to get all slices in syrup.
    Heat and fill clean, hot jars.
    Seal.
