Old-Fashioned Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. white sugar
    1/2 c. hot water
    1 c. light corn syrup
    2 c. raw peanuts
    1 Tbsp. butter
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cook sugar, water and syrup in large saucepan until soft ball stage (235\u00b0 to 240\u00b0).
    Add peanuts and butter.
    Continue cooking until hard ball stage (300\u00b0 to 310\u00b0).
    Keep stirring.
    Cook over medium-high heat, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat.
    Add baking soda and vanilla, stirring rapidly.
