Cracker Jacks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. cornstarch
    1/4 c. molasses
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    6 qt. popped popcorn
    peanuts (optional)
Preparation
    Mix first 5 ingredients
    thoroughly until mixture boils, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat.
    Add baking soda and vanilla.
    Mix well.
    Pour over about 6 quarts of popped popcorn. Add peanuts to taste.
    Put in a large roasting pan and bake 1 hour at 250\u00b0, stirring every 15 minutes.
