Cherry Cinnamon Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 can pie cherries (about 2 c.), well drained and sprinkled with 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs.
    Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with buttermilk.
    Fold in flour-coated cherries. Bake in an 8 x 12-inch sheet pan or 8-inch tube pan at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
    Frost lightly with creamy white frosting.
