Nine Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. bean soup mix
    2 qt. water
    1/2 to 1 lb. ham, diced
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 to 2 cloves garlic, minced
    3/4 tsp. salt
    2 large cans or jars tomatoes (undrained)
    1 can chopped green chilies, drained
    dash of cumin
    pinch of basil
Preparation
    Sort and wash bean mix.
    Place in Dutch oven.
    Cover with water 2 inches above beans; soak overnight.
    Drain.
    Add water and all remaining ingredients.
    Cover and bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer about 2 hours, or until beans are tender.
    Stir occasionally.
    Adjust seasonings.
    Get out the soup bowls and French bread and enjoy!
