Holiday Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 egg
    1/4 c. sour cream
    8 oz. box dates, cut up
    chopped nuts
    candied cherries, chopped
Preparation
    Cream the shortening and sugar. Add egg and sour cream.
    Add dry ingredients, mixing well. Fold in dates, nuts and cherries. Bake at 350\u00b0 to 375\u00b0 for 12 minutes.
    Makes about 5 dozen.
