Popcorn Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. light or dark syrup
    1 c. boiling water
    2 Tbsp. vinegar
    1/2 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1 tsp. hot water
    1 stick butter
    6 qt. corn, already popped
Preparation
    Mix the first 4 ingredients well.
    Boil until a bit dropped in cold water forms a firm ball.
    Dissolve the baking soda in hot water and butter.
    Pour over the popped corn (already popped and which the unpopped kernels have been removed).
    Stir well; form into balls.
