Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    2 c. white Karo syrup
    1 c. water
    4 c. raw peanuts
    2 Tbsp. butter
    3 tsp. soda
Preparation
    In a large pan, bring the first 3 ingredients to a boil (250\u00b0 on candy thermometer).
    Add peanuts and butter.
    Boil to 300\u00b0 on candy thermometer.
    Remove from fire and add soda.
    Stir thoroughly and pour quickly without using a spoon to spread onto well-greased cookie sheet.
    Let cool, then break into pieces.
    This recipe may be cut in half.
