Black Walnut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour, sifted
2 3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2/3 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs, separated
3/4 c. milk
1 1/2 c. black walnuts, chopped small
Preparation

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
Cream butter with sugar and vanilla until fluffy.
Add beaten egg yolks.
Beat thoroughly.
Add sifted dry ingredients and milk alternately in small amounts, beating well after each addition.
Add nuts, then the stiffly beaten egg whites.
Pour into greased pans and bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
When cool, frost with Caramel Frosting.
