Macaroni Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. oil
    1/4 c. onions and peppers, chopped
    1 lb. hamburg
    1 large can tomatoes
    1/2 c. Karo syrup
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. chili powder
    1 bay leaf
    pepper to taste
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch (mix in water)
    3 c. cooked macaroni or rice
    shredded Cheddar cheese (about 1 c.)
Preparation
    Brown onions and peppers with hamburg.
    Add tomatoes, syrup, salt, pepper, chili powder and bay leaf.
    Simmer 15 minutes. Blend cornstarch in meat mixture; add macaroni or rice.
    Put in 2-quart dish.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 about 1 hour.
    Add 1 cup cheese over last 15 minutes.
