Fried Pies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. plain flour
3/4 tsp. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Preparation

Mix into 1/2 cup Crisco shortening with fork or pastry cutter. Add 2/3 cup evaporated milk and 1 beaten egg.
Pour to desired consistency.
Blend to mixture.
Roll out walnut sized balls of dough to make small circles of thin crust.
Add filling in middle of each crust, then fold in half and crimp along the edges with fork to seal.
Fry the pies in deep hot cooking oil until brown.
