Overseas Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. sugar
    2 c. light syrup
    1 large and 1 small cans evaporated milk
    1/2 c. creamy butter
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Combine first 4 ingredients and cook over low heat until it forms medium ball not soft or hard when tested in cold water (not ice).
    Beat until stiff.
    Add vanilla and nuts.
    Pour into deep pan until cool, then remove and put in wax paper.
    The longer it stands the better it tastes.
    Let stand at least 5 weeks before eating.
    Makes 6 pounds.
