Mexican Lasagna - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1/2 c. chopped onions (optional)
    1 (15 oz.) can Ranch Style beans or chili beans
    2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
    1 (4 oz.) can diced green chilies
    1 pkg. taco seasoning mix
    6 to 10 flour tortillas, cut into 2-inch pieces
    2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese or Jack cheese

    Note:
    Extra cheese may be used if desired.
