Grandma'S Holiday Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. raisins
1 c. figs or dates
1 c. walnuts
1 c. boiling water
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
1 egg white
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. cloves
Preparation

Chop raisins and dates.
Pour the boiling water, in which the soda has been dissolved, over fruit.
Cream butter and sugar.
Add beaten egg yolks, then the spices and fruit, then flour.
Fold in the beaten egg white.
Add vanilla and nuts.
Bake 1 hour and 45 minutes in loaf pan in a 350\u00b0 oven.
