Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white corn syrup
    1/2 c. water
    2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. broken nuts
Preparation
    Pray before you start!\tThen place in saucepan over low heat the sugar, corn syrup
    and\twater.\tStir
    until
    sugar is dissolved;\tthen
    cook without
    stirring
    to
    252\u00b0\t(a
    little dropped into cold water forms
    a hard ball).
    Remove from heat and pour, beating constantly in
    a
    fine
    stream
    into the egg whites that have been
    stiffly beaten.
    Continue beating until mixture holds its shape and
    loses\tits
    gloss.
    Then
    add the vanilla and nuts.
    Drop quickly
    from
    tip of spoon onto waxed paper in individual peaks or spread in greased shallow pan and cut into 1-inch squares when firm.
    Makes about 1 1/4 pounds.
