Southern Maryland Oyster Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. oysters
    2 c. scalded milk
    2 c. evaporated milk or cream
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    3/4 c. water
Preparation
    Place oysters in saucepan, add water and cook until oysters are plump and edges curl.
    Remove oysters and add to milk.
    Add salt and pepper, then strained oyster juice.
    Add butter, heat and serve with crackers.
