Caramel Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. half and half
    3/4 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. chocolate chips
    64 pecan halves
Preparation
    In 4-quart saucepan, combine sugar, 1 cup half and half, syrup and butter.
    Cook over medium heat until it comes to a rolling boil (7 to 8 minutes).
    Add remaining half and half until 245\u00b0 on candy thermometer or dropped in ice water forms a ball (35 or 40 minutes).
    Pour into buttered 8-inch square pan.
    Cover and refrigerate.
    Cut into squares.
    Melt chocolate; place 1 or 1 1/2 teaspoons of chocolate on each square.
    Place pecans onto chocolate and refrigerate.
