Cherry-Coconut Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sifted flour
    1/2 c. margarine or butter
    3 T. confectioners sugar
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 c. flour
    1/2 t. baking powder
    1/4 t. salt
    1 t. vanilla
    3/4 c. nuts, chopped
    1/2 c. coconut
    1/2 c. quartered maraschino cherries
Preparation
    Mix butter, flour and confectioners sugar until smooth. Spread thin with the fingers in an 8 or 9-inch square pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes. Mix the rest of the ingredients together and spread over the top of the baked pastry. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
