Moravian Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pt. plus 2 c. Grandma's molasses
    1 lb. brown sugar
    4 lb. plain flour (approximately)
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. hot water
    1 small box cinnamon
    1 small box cloves
    1 lb. Crisco shortening
Preparation
    In large bowl, mix together flour, sugar and shortening.
    Make a
    hole in center.
    Pour in molasses.
    Add spices, salt and soda. Blend well.
    Add hot water.
    (Add more flour if necessary to form a soft dough.)
    (These ingredients should all be mixed by hand.) Refrigerate overnight before baking.
    Roll out a fist sized ball of dough on floured surface.
    (Should roll very thin.)
    Cut with assorted cutters.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for approximately 3 to 5 minutes.
