German Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head cabbage, finely chopped
    1 large onion, finely chopped
    1 bell pepper, finely chopped
    8 slices bacon, cut into pieces
    1 Tbsp. salad dressing
    1 tsp. minced garlic (optional)
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Place cabbage in boiling, salted water and boil for 5 minutes.
    Fry bacon pieces slowly until brown.
    Drain cabbage thoroughly.
    Mix onions and bell pepper with cabbage in bowl.
    Add bacon bits and drippings to cabbage.
    Add 1 tablespoon salad dressing or mayonnaise.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
