Pork Chops Cacciatore - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 pork chops (about 3/4-inch thick)
    1/2 tsp. salt
    6 thin onion slices
    1 envelope spaghetti sauce mix
    1 can tomatoes (2 c.)
    1 Tbsp. brown sugar
    6 green pepper rings
Preparation
    Trim fat from chops.
    Heat fat in skillet; when you have about 1 tablespoon melted fat, remove trimmings.
    Brown chops; season with salt and dash of pepper.
    Place in an 11 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 1 1/2-inch baking dish.
    Top each chop with onion slice.
    Combine next 3 ingredients; pour over chops.
    Cover with foil; bake in moderate oven (350\u00b0) for 1 hour.
    Uncover; top chops with green pepper.
    Bake 15 minutes.
    Serve with hot cooked rice.
    Makes 6 servings.
