Baked Sliced Apple Slices - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 large cooking apples
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
3/4 c. fine dry bread crumbs
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
2 Tbsp. soft butter or margarine
1/3 c. orange juice
Preparation

Pare, core and slice apples into eighths.
Combine brown sugar, bread crumbs, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Blend.
Spread 1 tablespoon butter on entire insides of 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
Fill pan with alternate layers of apples, brown sugar mixture and orange juice, ending with sugar mixture on top.
Cover with aluminum foil.
Bake in a moderate oven (375\u00b0) for 15 minutes. Uncover; continue to bake about 1/2 hour longer, or until apples are soft.
Serve warm or cold with cream or ice cream.
