Ingredients

3/4 c. soft margarine
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
granulated sugar
Preparation

Cream the butter and brown sugar until light.
Beat in eggs and molasses.
Add sifted dry ingredients (except granulated sugar).
Mix well.
Chill several hours.
Shape into balls the size of walnuts and roll in granulated sugar.
Press down with floured tumbler.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for about 12 minutes.
Makes approximately 4 dozen.
