Plantation Chowder(Our Favorite Winter Soup) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 chicken flavored bouillon cubes
    3 1/2 c. boiling water
    1 1/4 c. dried corn
    6 slices bacon
    additional boiling water
    1/2 c. dried onion
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/2 bay leaf (optional)
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    2 c. diced potato
    2 c. milk
Preparation
    Dissolve bouillon cubes in 3 1/2 cups boiling water; pour mixture over dried corn in a large saucepan.
    Let stand to reconstitute 2 hours.
    Pour additional boiling water over onions and cover.
    Let stand to reconstitute 10 to 15 minutes.
    Drain.
