Hot Cabbage Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 slices bacon
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    2 Tbsp. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. water
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 small head cabbage, shredded (about 4 1/2 c.)
    1 apple, pared, cored and finely chopped
Preparation
    In skillet, cook bacon until crisp.
    Drain, reserving drippings; set bacon aside.
    Add onion to drippings and cook until tender.
    Stir in vinegar, water, sugar, salt and pepper; bring to boiling.
    Add cabbage and apple; toss to coat.
    Cover and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes or until cabbage is just wilted. Crumble bacon over top.
    Serves 4 to 6.
