Hot Dog Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. onions
    4 c. cabbage
    4 c. green tomatoes
    12 green peppers
    6 red peppers (for color)
    1/2 c. salt
    6 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    4 c. vinegar
    2 c. water
Preparation
    Grind vegetables coarsely.
    Add salt and let set overnight. Rinse and drain.
    Combine remaining ingredients and pour over vegetable mixture.
    Heat to boiling and simmer for 3 minutes. Seal in hot, sterilized jars.
    May substitute cucumbers for cabbage or tomatoes.
    Makes 8 pints.
