Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. drained crushed pineapple
1/2 c. broken nuts
1 egg, well beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
Preparation

Cream shortening with sugars; add egg and pineapple, mixing thoroughly.
Add flavoring.
Sift flour, measure and sift with salt, baking soda and baking powder.
Add to first mixture.
Add nuts.
Mix thoroughly.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet.
Bake in hot oven at 400\u00b0 about 10 minutes.
