"Mama'S Gingerbread" (Mrs. Ruth Clapp)(Molasses Cake) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. molasses
    1/2 c. shortening or margarine
    1 c. boiling water
    2 tsp. baking powder
    2 1/2 c. flour (add more in batter if too soupy)
    1 1/2 tsp. ginger
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. raisins (optional)
Preparation
    Mix
    eggs,
    brown sugar, molasses, shortening or margarine and
    boiling water.
    Add flour mixed with baking powder, salt, soda
    and
    spices.\tPour
    into
    9 x 12-inch greased pan (will be thick
    when
    cut into squares) or can bake in muffin pans (24). Add
    raisins
    to
    batter after it is in the baking pan.
    Lightly press into the batter with a fork.\tBake at 350\u00b0 for about 30 minutes, less for muffins.
