Banana-Nut Icebox Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. vanilla wafers
    1 c. powdered sugar
    1 c. chopped nuts
    3 bananas
    1/2 c. butter
    4 eggs, separated and beaten
    1 tsp. lemon extract
Preparation
    Cream the butter and sugar.
    Add beaten egg yolks and lemon extract.
    Beat several minutes.
    Beat egg whites very stiff.
    Fold into mixture and add nuts.
    Crush vanilla wafers.
    Put into pan a layer of crumbs, layer of custard, then bananas (sliced thin); repeat to finish with the crumbs on top.
    Set overnight to chill. Serve with whipped cream.
