Mother Cade'S Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. butter
    3 eggs
    1/2 c. water
    1 tsp. soda
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 heaping Tbsp. cocoa
    1 c. nuts
    2 apples, peeled
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter well; add eggs one at a time.
    Beat well.
    After sifting flour, measure and then add spices, cocoa and a pinch of salt.
    Dissolve soda in water.
    Add nuts and apples last.
    Cook in a slow oven at 350\u00b0 in a greased and floured pan.
