Layered Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce in bite sized pieces
    1 c. chopped celery
    4 eggs, hard-cooked and diced
    1 c. frozen, cooked peas or 1 c. shredded carrots
    1 onion
    8 slices bacon, fried and diced
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    4 oz. cheese, grated
Preparation
    Layer in a 9 x 13-inch pan the first 6 ingredients.
    Mix mayonnaise and sugar.
    Spread on top as frosting.
    Sprinkle with cheese.
    Cover and refrigerate 8 to 12 hours before serving.
