Ingredients

2 egg whites
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
pinch of salt
3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. chocolate chips
Preparation

Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
Beat egg whites until frothy; add salt and cream of tartar and continue beating until egg whites are stiff.
Add sugar a tablespoon at a time, beating constantly until glossy.
Mix in vanilla and fold in chips.
Drop on greased cookie sheets with teaspoon.
Place in oven.
Turn off oven and let cookies stand overnight.
Do not open oven for at least 5 hours. Yields 4 dozen.
