Ingredients

3 c. flour
1 c. shortening
1 tsp. salt
2 beaten eggs
3 Tbsp. milk
apples
1 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. flour
cinnnamon
powdered sugar
water
Preparation

Mix the first 5 ingredients as for pastry.
Split dough in half and roll out to fit cookie sheet, pressing dough into corners.
Put one layer of apples (sliced thin and peeled) on dough.
Mix sugar and flour; sprinkle this over apples.
Sprinkle cinnamon over apples also.
Roll out remaining dough and place over top of apples, again pressing into corners.
Cut slits over entire top. Bake at 400\u00b0 for 51 minutes to 1 hour.
Remove from oven and cover with thin glaze of powdered sugar and water.
Do not cover tightly.
